October 29, 2005 I live in Cranbrook, BC, and whenever I happen to be in Kelowna, I always visit a Wendy�s, as we do not have one any where near Cranbrook. On October 25th, around 12:30 pm I was in your Wendy�s store in Rutland, BC, when I noticed three people sitting at a table. The man got up and went to the counter, and a few minutes later, a girl came over. The couple was not happy with the treatment/service they had received. Apparently they had ordered some food and it was not correct. So the girl, when the food was ready, had brought it over, and threw the tray down on the table in front of them, and then walked off. The man then went up to the counter, I guess to ask to speak to the manger. When the manger came over, it was the same girl who had originally brought the tray over. When they approached her on her attitude towards customers, she was quite rude and indignant towards them. The man commented on how they were not �dogs� where you throw the food down in front of them. I did not hear all the conversation, but they asked if there was anyone else they could speak to, and she said no, that she was the manager, and she felt that she had done nothing wrong, and that her attitude was fine. The man commented that he would be following up on a comment card and sending it in. I looked at her name tag, and her name was Kelly. I would not be writing to you today, but this seems to be a pattern at this particular location in Kelowna, as I was there earlier in the month, October 7th 2005 when my brother got married. I ordered my spicy chicken burger and fries and paid for my purchase. (this order was for take-out) My burger came up to the counter and they told me that it would be about 3-4 minutes for my fries. I then asked for my money back, as I was in a hurry and could live without my fries. Begrudgingly the girl at the counter gave me my money. I then left and went out to my truck. I opened my burger, and it was the wrong thing. I went back inside and asked for my money back for my burger. The girl at the counter was very rude, and finally gave me my money back. I mentioned to her that it was a good thing that I was not a Mystery Shopper, as it would not be a good comment on her service and attitude. I then left the Rutland store, and drove to Wendy�s on Harvey Avenue. Where I must say my order was correct and the service was fast and efficient. As a business owner myself, I know that this girl is not good for your business!! She does not know how to deal with customers or employees. If Kelly was my employee, let alone my manager, she definitely would not be employed any further. I also overheard a comment from the employee that cleans up the tables, that �I have seen her treat employees this way, but not usually customers.� I sincerely hope that you can resolve this matter, as no customer should be treated in this way. My only conclusion is that it must be hard to find good employees who can keep customers happy and make money for your company, but this one should not be in a position of authority or customer relations.
